KABUL): More than 130 anti-personnel mines and 20 walkie-talkies, placed in a Kabul neighbourhood to disrupt the celebration of Mujahidin’s Victory Day, were seized on Sunday.
The seizure came ahead of the Mujahidin’s Victory Day, which falls on Thursday, the Afghan spy service said, adding that the mines were recovered in the 8th police district.
A statement from the National Directorate of Security said militants wanted to use the explosives to disrupt the celebrations in the capital. No one has been detained so far, it added.
