PU-I-ALAM (PAN): Two insurgents were killed and six were injured during a clash with police in the central province of Logar, an official said on Sunday.
The clash erupted when a group of insurgents attacked a police checkpoint in Ali Khan village late on Sunday night, police chief, Col. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Liwanai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Two attackers were killed and six others injured when police returned fire, he said, adding two policemen were also wounded.
The insurgents were residents of the Ali Khan village, the police official said. Two machineguns, two Kalashnikovs, two machine gun and two motorcycles were seized from the insurgents, he said.
Mohammad Ajmal, a resident of area, said the overnight clash lasted several hours. He had no information about casualties.
