ASADABAD (PAN.
Four MPs including three men and one woman represent the province in Wolesi Jirga.
According to locals, candidates had made false promises to them.
Pervez Mashal, resident of Asmar district of the province said he felt sorry for wasting his vote as nothing had been done by any of their MPs so far.
“Pakistani soldiers are firing mortars and rockets into our areas while the government and especially our MPs are silent which is very sad for us,” he complained, adding their MPs had promised them they would take good care of people and their properties.
Hundreds of people had been killed and injured in those attacks but no MP had even visited the area to meet people and solve their problems, Mashal said.
“We shall not vote for them again and we shall also try to convince others to do so,” he decided.
Riazullah Sajid, resident of Manugi district said MPs had no ability to represent people in true spirit and they could not solve their problems.
“People want peace as they hate war but our MPs are trying to strengthen their chairs in the parliament,” he said.
People were disappointed as MPs in the Wolesi Jirga were unable to solve their problems, Sajid said.
“We had casted our votes at a very critical situation to address our issues by people we had elected but unfortunately we have not even heard their voices in both Wolesi Jirga and in the province so far,” said Muhammad Ismail of Sawki district.
Their MPs were only thinking of their personal benefits, he said.
Haji Sakhi Mashwani, an MP from the province confirmed people’s complaints to some extent and said the government had obstructed Wolesi Jirga and that was the reason they were unable to work properly during last six months.
He admitted he had not visited his constituency and unable to discuss people’s problems during that period.
