KABUL): Sixty female competitors were among 1,500 participants who won in the “jurisprudence star” competition held in Kabul recently.
The contest was launched in Salam University, initiated by Afghan Society for Social Reforms and Development (ASSRD) last week and prizes would be distributed on Sunday.
Samea “Emami” emerged first, Bi Bi Hawa was second, Samia in third placing and Nazira was fourth in the competition.
Samea, a third year student in Albironi Medical University, told Pajhwok Afghan News that her interest in Islamic knowledge encouraged her to participate in the competition.
She added: “I feel extremely happy when I became the first, prize has no value for me, and only position has value for me.”
Samea said she mostly studied Islamic books to enrich her knowledge on Islam.
Sadia Hafiz an official of ASSRD said a winner needs to score 75 percent and only 60 competitors managed to achieve the figure.
She added the competition was aimed to improve students’ skills in Islamic education, especially taking advantage of the winter vacation.
An examination about Sirat-i-Nabavi (life of prophet PBUH) was also launched last week in Wazir Akbarkhan mosque where 2,400 people, including female students participated.
