At the meeting, chaired by President Hamid Karzai at the Presidential Palace on Sunday, Afghanistan’s pressing security issues were widely discussed, added the statement sent to Pajhwok Afghan News.
Governor of Nuristan province briefed on the security situation in Nuristan province and urged government to beef up security forces in the province.
The dissolution of private security companies in the country also topped the meeting’s agenda, said the statement.
Maj. Gen. Jamal Abdul Naser Sadiqi, deputy of public order police, explained about dissolution of private security companies and said his upgraded-department was ready to take control of all security firms.
Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai chairman of Security Transition Commission, who also attended the meeting, said works on the third phase of security transition from foreigners to Afghan security forces would start soon.
