LAGHKARGAH (PAN were among six civilians died in a roadside bombing in the Nad Ali district of southern Helmand province, officials said on Saturday.
The latest civilian casualties occurred on Friday evening when a private car owned by the family struck a hidden landmine in the Matakai area, Nad Ali police chief Lt. Omar Jan Haqmal told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the dead included two women, two elderly men and as many adult males, all from one family.
The incident happened in the Taliban-controlled area, where the victims were travelling home from a nearby village when the blast occured around 7pm.
The governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zeerak, confirmed the blast and the casualties, but gave no details.
