Nearly 60 spiritual leaders from various Islamic countries attended the third summit entitled “Peaceful Future of Afghanistan” on Thursday, with participants calling on religious scholars in Afghanistan and Pakistan to promote the culture of tolerance and brotherhood.
At the end, a resolution was issued, declaring suicide attacks and violence against the instructions of Islam, insisting any kind of violence in Afghanistan in the name of Islam was haram and a crime.
The participants also asked the Afghan government and armed opposition groups to ensure security for individuals working for peace in the country.
They also asked the UN and the OIC to use their influence for making the Afghan-led peace process a success.
From Afghanistan, hajj groups participated in the conference.
