MAHMOOD RAQI (PAN): Two teachers of the Alberoni University were arrested after recovery of two anti-tanks mines from their car in central Kapisa province, officials said on Saturday.
The arrests were made in Kohistan district, the town’s administrative chief, Abdul Fatah Shafiq, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Without naming the teachers, he said the mines were recovered by police during a search of vehicles on the road leading to the university. The detainees were being investigated by police, he added.
University Chancellor Dr Farid Barnayar, meanwhile, acknowledged the arrests. However, he said the teachers had told him that they were unaware of the landmines.
