KABUL (PAN): The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Saturday agreed to grant $68.5 million to the education ministry, an official said.
Under an agreement signed in Kabul, 2,270 schools will be built in rural areas to pave the ground for provide education to 555,000 children.
Education Minister Dr. Farooq Wardak and Peter Crowely, the UNICEF country director, signed the contract.
Wardak said the ministry would build 607 rapid literacy centres to facilitate 125,000 people’s access to education.
