HERAT CITY (PAN): Three policemen and 10 militants were killed during a clash in the northwestern province of Badghis on Tuesday, officials said.
The clash erupted after the Taliban attacked a local police checkpoint in Bala Murghab district, the governor’s spokesman, Mirwais Mirzakwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said three other policemen were wounded in the gunbattle. But 207th Zafar Crops spokesman Najibullah Najibi said 10 Taliban were killed and eight others wounded in retaliatory fire from security personnel.
