KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): At least 10 militants and two border policemen were killed during a clash in the Spin Boldak border town in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Monday.
The militants, who crossed the border from Pakistan, stormed a security post in Saro Sahan area late on Sunday, sparking the clash, Kandahar police chief Gen. Abdul Razzaq told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the dead insurgents included Pakistani nationals, saying two police officers were lost to the attack.
A Taliban spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed six border policemen were killed in the Spin Boldak firefight. He confirmed the death of two militants.
The attack comes a month after 11 border policemen were killed in a similar incident in the same district.
