CHARIKAR’s handicrafts and agricultural products was organized in Charikar, the provincial capital of central Parwan province, on Wednesday.
Sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the show contained stalls of beadwork, tailoring, carpet-weaving and agricultural products like onions, tomato pastes, jams, pickles and others.
A businesswomen association member, Saeeda, who displayed her 60 hand-made products at the exhibition, said she was satisfied with the income she earned from the business.
She asked the government to support women in promoting their handicrafts.
A woman farmer, Morya Wahidi, said she had brought to the show jams, pickles, pastes and extras. “I produce these products and carry them to Kabul to make more money to support my family.”
There are 3,000 businesswomen working in agriculture fields and industries in Parwan.
