KABUL (Pajhwok): Two children have been killed in a mine blast in the Jalrez district of central Maidan Wardak province, an official said Monday.
Attaullah Khugyani, governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the tragic incident occurred in Mamaki locality of the district last evening.
Police rounded up two suspects who were being quizzed. The slain children were aged between eight and ten years, he added.
Separately, he said security forces detained three suspects during the ongoing operation in Amir Kala locality of Sayed Abad. Police had arrested Attaur Rehman with a car he stole from Kandahar, he added.
He said the suspects were being investigated by the police.
