KABUL (Pajhwok): Dozens of residents staged a protest to condemn the killing of a civilian by police in the Pul-i-Charkhi area on the eastern outskirts of Kabul, officials said on Wednesday.
Col. Akbar Ali, police chief for the 12th district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the protestors — carrying the victim’s body — gathered in front of the Pul-i-Charkhi prison and demanded the arrest of the alleged killer.
Shahabuddin Tarakhel, a resident of the area, said the civilian was gunned down early in the morning when he was passing through entrance to the notorious prison.
