KABUL (Pajhwok): In an effort to curb the movement of insurgents, Kabul and Islamabad have agreed on better border management, a report in the Pakistani media said on Friday.

The News quoted diplomatic sources as saying that Afghanistan’s plea for border management to establish peace in the region.

“Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to check the nefarious designs across the border as these activities were detrimental to regional peace,” the newspaper said, referring to talks between the two sides in Ankara.

Similarly, Kabul sought Islamabad’s cooperation in creating a favourable environment for conducting the April 5 presidential elections. Pakistan pledged its support.

Democracy and stability in Afghanistan were vital for peace in the region, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif told reporters in the Turkish capital.
