KABUL on combating drugs of cannabis group held in Moscow on Wednesday and the participants of the seminar had a constructive exchange of views on combating drugs of cannabis and other groups in Afghanistan and the surrounding region.
A press release issued by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in a statement said that the representatives of the member states as well as several countries and organizations supporting the activities of the mentioned CBM – Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Italy, Finland, Sweden, CSTO, UNODC and SCO – took part in the event held in accordance with the approved action plan of the CN CBM.
The Russian side confirmed its readiness for cooperation with partners in the framework of the CN CBM in such areas as exchange of information on the persons involved in production of drugs and illegal drug trafficking, locations of drug production warehouses, disclosure of the financial infrastructure in Afghanistan and the surrounding region.
The intention for providing assistance to the regional counternarcotics agencies in training and retraining of their personnel was expressed. The presentation of the specialized educational institutions of the Russian MoI, FSKN (Counternarcotics Agency) and Federal Service on Financial Monitoring was held in this context.
