KABUL (Pajhwok): Six policemen were killed on Wednesday when a suicide bomber blew himself up in front of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in Kabul, an official said.
The bomber on foot, wearing a police uniform, detonated his explosives after being positively identified by security forces, the ministry spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Siddique Siddiqui said the incident happened at about 2.50pm. The assailant was trying to attack a crowd of visitors at the entrance to the high-security building, he added.
But another source in the ministry said the attacker was trying to detonate his explosives at the gate after crossing one security checkpoint. At least four policemen were wounded, he added.
