KABUL, the military alliance said on Monday.
“Two International Security Assistance Force service members died as a result of enemy forces’ attacks in eastern Afghanistan today,” ISAF said in a brief statement, which issued no further details about the engagement and nationalities of the fallen troops.
The deaths took the number of foreign troops killed this year in Afghanistan to 29.
On Saturday morning, a Lynx helicopter crashed in southern Kandahar province during a routine flight, killing five British soldiers travelling in.
The British government has launched a probe into the fatal crash after the Taliban claimed they shot it down, a claim the UK’s Ministry of Defence denied, saying it was a “tragic accident” rather than enemy action.
