LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A suicide attacker rammed his explosives-laden car into an Afghan National Army (ANA)’s check-post in the Greshk district of southern Helmand province on Friday afternoon, an official said.
The attack took place in the Haiderabad area at around 4pm, ANA’s 215th Maiwand Military Corps deputy commander Brig. Gen. Ghulam Farooq Parwani told Pajhwok Afghan News. However, he had no information about casualties.
But a security official, wishing anonymity, said one ANA soldier was killed and three others wounded in the attack.
The Taliban have claimed credit for the car suicide bombing, with the group spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi saying up to 20 ANA service members were killed and wounded.
