KABUL (Pajhwok): Residents of some areas of central Kapisa province complain insecurity is gradually escalating and creating numerous problems for civilians.
The security situation recently deteriorated in Tagab, Alasai and Najrab districts of the province, where militant-linked violence has become frequent.
A resident of Tagab district, Khalil told Pajhwok Afghan News the people could not go to markets for shopping for Eid-ul-Adha due to insecurity.
“Militants have planted bombs on roads and stepped up attacks on highways, fuelling concerns among the locals,” he said.
Khalil added the father of an Afghan Local Police (ALP) member was shot dead in broad daylight in the main district bazaar on Wednesday.
A dweller of Najrab, Atta Mohammad said that Taliban stopped people on roads and tortured them in Sarboli area.
Lal Gul, belonging to A dweller of Alasai, said government servants, coming home on Eid holidays, came under attacks. He asked security organs to establish posts on public roads.
Governor Gen. Mehrabuddin Safi said they had discussed the issue and security personnel would be deployed soon in restive areas to control militant movement activities.
