KABUL (Pajhwok): At least three deputy directors and around 20 heads of different sections of the Administrative Affairs Office of the Presidential Palace have been replaced, reliable sources said on Sunday.
Those removed and replaced include deputy finance director Farid Hikmat, deputy director policy-making Syed Wali Sultan, deputy director recruitment Mohammad Daud, chief of staff Syed Ihsanullah Tahirawi and few others.
After his oath-taking ceremony, President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai had ordered the chief of staff office merged into the Administrative Affairs Office to reduce the number of offices and staff at the Presidential Palace.
Abdul Salam Rahimi has been appointed as head of the Administrative Affairs Office and the Council of Ministers Secretariat through a presidential decree.
Presidential advisor on legal affairs Abdul Ali Mohammadi said work on merging different ministries and offices was underway besides appointing professional individuals to ministries.
