HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A district police chief was injured along with his two guards in a roadside bombing in the Injil district of western Herat province, an official said on Sunday.
The Injil district police chief, Ghulam Rassoul, was on a patrol from the Pakhtun Pul area to another area when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb on Saturday night, Herat police spokesnan Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The injured policemen had been taken to hospital for treatment and their condition was said to be stable, he said.
There has been no claim of responsibility for the bomb attack.
