KABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Monday held a farewell meeting with former ministers, who were recently replaced by their deputies.
The president praised the former ministers’ services to the people of Afghanistan, saying that his administration would make use of their experience, knowledge and insights.
A statement from his office quoted Ghani as saying that the government would count on advice from the ex-cabinet members.
Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah also applauded the former ministers’ services. “The national unity government, during its first two months in office, has benefitted from your cooperation.”
On behalf of the outgoing cabinet members, ex-education minister Farooq Wardak acknowledged the confidence the president and the chief executive had reposed in them.
Also present on the occasion were Vice-President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, Second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danish and Abdullah’s deputy Eng. Mohammad Khan.
