KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The provincial council of southeastern Khost on Saturday announced it would elect the administration board tomorrow (Sunday).
The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has warned provincial councils of Paktia, Khost and some other provinces to elect their administration boards before December 22.
In its warning letter, the IEC said it would intervene if the PCs failed to elect the boards before the deadline.
Wagma Arzo, a Khost PC member, told Pajhwok Afghan News elections for the administration board would be held on Sunday.
It has been more than a month since PC poll results were announced, but some of them are yet to elect their administrative boards due to differences among members.
Another provincial council member, Qaimat Khan Mangal, hoped all members would participate in the election of the PC head, deputy head and secretary. There have been reports that Khost PC members had been offered $200,000 per vote by a senatorial candidate.
