FARAH CITY (PAJHWOK): At least 25 insurgents have been killed during a clearing operation in the Bakwa district of western Farah province, an official said on Saturday.
Hanifullah Rezaee, spokesman of the 207th Zafar Military Corps, said the joint military offensive was spearheaded by the Afghan National Army (ANA) and concluded on Friday.
He added different brands of weapons, two cars and as many motorbikes have been destroyed during the clashes with rebels.
He said Afghan forces did not suffer causalities during the offensive. He said militants had carried the bodies of their colleagues to the Balaboluk district.
Taliban have not yet commented on the offensive.
