QALAT (Pajhwok): Six militants were killed during clearing operations in southern Zabul province on Monday, the police chief claimed.
Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai said that five fighters were killed in Omaki locality and a sixth during a skirmish in Seori district. Five weapons and ammunition were sized during as a result of clash.
Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi confirmed the death of only two militants, claiming four policemen had died in the gunbattle.
In eastern Nangarhar province, four passengers were wounded when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb. The governor’s spokesperson, Abdul Zia Abdulzai said the wounded were in stable condition.
