FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Four passengers kidnapped by insurgents on the Farah-Herat highway have been released as a result of a rescue operation, an army official said on Tuesday.
Mohammad Hanif Rezaee, the 207th Zafar Corps spokesperson, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban had forced five passengers out of the bus in Kansk locality and had taken them away.
He added one of the passengers was still in Taliban captivity. The passengers were on their way to Farah. Rezaee said at least six fighters were killed in the rescue operation.
