GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Seven rebels were killed and five others wounded in military operations in Qarabagh and Andar districts of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.
Nazifullah Sultani, the Afghan National Army’s 203rd Thunder Military Corps spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News operation was launched four days ago.
Civilian casualties were also among the casualties, but Sultani rejected the claim as baseless. Security forces escaped unhurt. For their part, residents insisted 15 civilians were killed and wounded.
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid acknowledged the loss of only two fighters and said many civilians had been killed and wounded in the operation.
