LASHKARGAH (PAN): Another 68 weapons have been handed over to the disarmament programme in southern Helmand province, officials said on Thursday.
The weapons, both light and heavy, were seized by security personnel over the past 18 months in various parts of the Helmand, provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Muhammad Hakim Angar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The arms included 43 Kalashnikovs, 21 pistols, four old model guns and 9,000 rounds of different types of ammunition, he said.

It was the second time police had handed seized weapons over to the Disarmament of Illegal Armed Groups.
Up to this time, 574 arms have been given to the programme by the National Directorate of Security, police and other departments in the province.
