Taliban commander captured in Marja
By Pajhwok Report Sep 23, 2010 - 12:13KABUL (PAN): The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Thursday confirmed the capture of a Taliban commander in Marja district of southern Helmand province
The commander, who allegedly facilitated supplies for area fighters, was detained during an Afghan-coalition operation aimed at disrupting rebel activities in the province, the multinational force said.
Acting on intelligence tips, the security personnel raided a remote compound in Marja to search for the insurgent commander along with two of his associates. The force also seized 45 pounds of wet opium.
