JALALABAD (PAN): Seven people, including a police officer, were killed and six others wounded as a result of a traffic accident in eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday, an official said.

The accident happened on the ring road near the Najmul Jihad families' area in Jalalabad when a Toyota car crashed into a Ranger pick-up of border police, the Nangarhar police spokesman said.

A woman and five policemen were wounded in the head-on collision, Col. Abdul Ghafoor told Pajhwok Afghan News. A public health official, Dr. Yaqub, confirmed six injured people had been brought to hospital.
