ZARANJ (PAN): At least four people were killed and 25 others wounded when a packed passenger bus skidded off a road and overturned in the Khashrud district of southwestern Nimroz province on Friday, police said.
The accident happened on the Kandahar-Nimroz highway when the bus driver lost control of the steering due to high speed, said provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Jabbar Purdali.
The dead included two children, he said, adding two women were among the 25 people injured in the incident.
He said the dead and wounded were taken to a hospital in Zaranj with the help of police. He said the incident was a result of speedy driving and carelessness.
The district chief, Muhammad Hashim Noorzai, confirmed the incident, saying four people had been killed and 15 others wounded.
