JALALABAD (PAN): Ten people were injured when a blast tore through a shop selling music and film CDs and DVDs on Wednesday in Jalalabad city, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, witnesses and officials said.
The incident took place at around 11:30am in a shop in Talashi square of the city, an eyewitness, Habibullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Some people were injured and had been taken to hospital by police, he added.
Security personnel cordoned off the area, he added.
Up to 10 injured people were taken to hospital, public health director, Baaz Muhammad Sherzad, said.
The injured were in a stable condition, he added.
The police spokesman, Col. Abdul Ghafoor, confirmed the incident, but gave no more details.
Similar explosions have taken place in shops selling music and films in the city before.
