KABUL(PAN): President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned a roadside bomb explosion that killed 14 people and injured four others in southern Helmand province early Thursday.
A Taliban-style bomb ripped through a van-shape passenger vehicle on the Lashkargah-Sangin road, killing 14 people, including women and children, and injuring four others in Nahr-i-Saraj area of Greshk district.
A statement issued from the president's office said the president was shocked by hearing the news of civilian deaths in the incident.
Karzai extended his deep sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of those wounded in the explosion.
"Such attacks are inhuman and against Islam," the statement quoted Karzai as saying.
