KABUL, Jan 24, 2011: Police have arrested a man accused of assaulting a senior Afghan journalist with acid in Kabul.

The detainee has confessed to throwing acid on Razaq Mamoon, director of the Bust-i-Bastan News Agency, during an exclusive interview to Pajhwok Afghan News on Monday.

Mamoon, who has also worked for the BBC, Radio Liberty and Tolo TV, was attacked Tuesday evening in the Macroroyan neighborhood of the capital. He accuses Iran of being behind the attack. PAJHWOK/ Ataullah Khpelwak.
