LASHKARGAH (PAN): The bodies of two teenage girls killed in unclear circumstances were found on the highway in the southern province of Helmand, an official said on Wednesday.
The dead bodies were found on Tuesday evening in Loy Manda area of Grishk district, district police chief, 2nd Lt. Zmaray, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The two girls had gone to a free medical clinic two days earlier and never returned home, he said.
The bodies were found on the Kandahar-Herat highway along with a mobile phone and 10,000 afghanis ($220.5), he said.
Quoting area people, Zmaray, said the killers had fled after throwing the bodies from their car.
Police had launched an investigation into the case, but no one has been detained.
