KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): A dozen new police chiefs have been appointed in an attempt to improve security in the capital, Kabul, officials said on Tuesday.

The appointments were made on the basis of a recommendation from the 101st Asmayee Police Zone and approved by the Ministry of Interior.

The newly-appointed officials will be posted to police stations in the first, second, fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th and 16th police districts, said a statement from the Asmayee Police Zone.

Last month, police and crime branch chiefs of the 13th district were detained after 25 kilograms of gold was stolen from shops in the Dasht-i-Barchi area.
