Tribal elder shot dead in Kandahar

Feb 22, 2011 - 17:15

KANDAHAR CITY (PANinfo-icon): Unidentified gunmen shot dead a tribal elder in southern Kandahar province on Tuesday, an official said.

Mohammad Shah Khan was killed by armed motorcyclists in front of his residence in the 5th police district of Kandahar City, the provincial capital.

Khan was among the unsuccessful 2010 parliamentary election candidates, said the governor's spokesman, Zalmay Ayubi.

Mohammad Nasim, the victim's son, told Pajhwok Afghan News that his father neither worked for the government nor had enmity with anyone.
