One killed, five wounded in Khost

One killed, five wounded in Khost

Feb 24, 2011 - 15:28

KHOSTCITY(PANinfo-icon): Two separate bomb explosions killed one person and wounded five others in southeastern Khost province, police said on Thursday.

The first blast took place inside a religious school in Khost City before noon, killing a teacher, police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Hakeem Ishaqzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

It was not immediately clear whether Gul Mohammad was killed by his own bomb or somebody else had planted the device in his room at the Panzai Madrasa, the police chief said.

The second blast ripped through a civilian vehicle in the Domanda district on the Khost-Gardez highway, injuring five people. The injured were taken to the Khost Civil Hospital, where doctors say their condition is stable.

The police chief also said that five bomb planters were arrested in Sabari and Gurbaz districts by Afghan and foreign troops late on Wednesday night.
