11 killed, 17 wounded in Herat accident
HERATCITY (PAN): Eleven people, including two children and a woman, were killed and 17 others wounded in a traffic accident in western Herat province on Sunday, an official said.
Some women were among those wounded in the accident that took place on the Herat-Torghundi highway in Injil, the district chief, Hesamuddin Shams, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The accident occurred when a truck crashed into a minivan, he said, adding both vehicles fell in a deep ditch.
A doctor at Herat Civil Hospital, Syed Naeem Alimi, acknowledged receiving 11 bodies and 16 wounded people.
