Afghans beat Australian troops in cricket match
Batting first in Saturday's encounter, the Aussies scored 131 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 20 years, the 205th Atal Military Corps commander told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zafar said the Afghan skipper, who captured four vital Australian wickets, played a solid knock of 70 runs to power his side to a convincing win in the 18th over.
In a post-match comment, the winning captain, Zafar, said: "I'm so glad that we have beaten the Australian troops, operating under International Security Assistance Force command in Uruzgan."
