Man sets family members on fire in Paktika
SHARAN (PAN): A man set his family members on fire in Orgun district of southeastern Paktika province, killing a woman and injuring six others, an official said on Monday.
Abdul Karim, suffering from a mental disorder, sprinkled his relatives with oil and set them on fire in the Loy Millat village late on Sunday night, the governor's spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Karim's mother was killed and his spouse, two children and two sisters were wounded in the overnight incident, Mukhlis Afghan said. The injured are under treatment in a local hospital. The man is currently being investigated by police.
Dr. Fauji, in charge of the Emergency Ward at the Orgun Civil Hospital, confirmed receiving the injured. One of the girls was in critical condition, the doctor said.
A resident of the village, Jalalzai, said that Karim had a psychological problem and quarreled frequently with his family members.
