Weapons, opium seized in Helmand
LASHKARGAH (PAN): Security forces recovered weapons and narcotics caches in southern Helmand province on Thursday, officials said.
The weapons, recovered in Nad Ali and Nahr-i-Saraj districts, included 13 Kalashnikovs, four machine guns, three rifles, a pistol and 1,600 bullets, an intelligence official said on condition of anonymity.
The counternarcotics police recovered 46 kilograms of opium from a house and arrested one suspect in Nawa Bazaar area of Greshk district, said the deputy police chief, Col. Kamaluddin Sherzai.
