Police officer dead in Nangarhar blast
JALALABAD (PAN): One police officer was killed and two others were wounded in a roadside bomb attack in eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, an official said.
The bomb ripped through a police patrol pick-up in Hesarak district at 11am, Nangarhar police chief, Brig. Gen. Alishah Paktiawal told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The district crime branch chief was killed and two policemen were wounded in the blast, Paktiawal said. The injured are in stable condition, according to the police chief.
Abdul Khaliq Maroof, the district chief, identified the dead as Col. Zar Wali. He blamed the insurgents for planting the roadside bomb in Khanjar area of the district.
