Blast in south kills Isaf soldier

KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): A foreign soldier was killed in a roadside bomb blast in the south, the International Security Assistance Force (Isafinfo-icon) said on Saturday.

"An Isaf servicemember died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistaninfo-icon on Friday," a brief statement from the Natoinfo-icon-led force said.

In accordance with its policy, the multinational force neither revealed the victim's nationality nor the exact location of the bombing.

Mainly American, British, Canadian and Australian troops are fighting the Talibaninfo-icon insurgents in southern Afghanistan.

As a result of Friday's fatality, the Isaf death toll has reached 74 since the beginning of 2011in Afghanistan, where more than 140,000 international soldiers are stationed.
