Women's handicraft exhibition held in Ghor
The exhibition showcases carpets, handmade mufflers, socks, gloves, curtains and a wide variety of clothes, said the director of women's affairs department, Masooma Anwari.
She acknowledged women played a significant role in development of society and looking after the family. The objective of the two-day event is to market women's handicrafts in Ghor.
A 30-year-old woman, Juma Gul, had nine of her carpets on display. She said: "There is no bazaar in our area, so we cannot sell our handicrafts. I am happy with this exhibition, which will enable us to sell our items."
Gul said many women were associated with the Ghor handicraft industry, but they had no access to the market. Dozens of government officials and foreigners, who visited the exhibition, purchased different items.
