1 injured in bomb blast in Kandahar city
KANDAHAR (PAN): A roadside bomb targeting a police car in the provincial capital of southern Kandahar province wounded one civilian, an official said on Monday.
The blast happened about 7pm on Sunday, Lt. Gen. Khan Mohammad Mujahid, the provincial police chief, said.
The explosives were stored in a jug in and detonated when the police ranger passed by. None of the policemen were injured, but a civilian was hurt, he said.
A doctor at Mirwais Hospital in Kandahar said a wounded civilian was brought to the hospital.
Recently, there have been several bomb blasts in Kandahar city. On Feb. 4, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the house of the police chief. Mujahid survived, but the bomber was killed and two women were injured.
