3,000 saplings distributed to Uruzgan farmersBy Ahmad Omaid Khapalwak Mar 7, 2011 - 19:57
The PRT planned to provide a total of 10,000 saplings to farmers across the province, Governor Mohammad Omar Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He urged farmers and other people to protect the saplings after their plantation, adding planting a single tree could help make the environment pleasant.
Agriculture director, Sardar Mohammad Alkoh, said about 300,000 saplings would be planted in Uruzgan this year.
The saplings received from non-governmental organisations were being distributed to people free of cost in a bid to make the plantation drive a success, he added.
