KABULinfo-icon (PANinfo-icon): The lower house of Parliament elected on Tuesday members of three more parliamentary commissions. The assembly has a total of 18 panels.

Chaired by the first deputy speaker, Khalid Pashtuninfo-icon, the Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon elected members for legislative affairs, counter-narcotics and financial and budget commissions.

On Monday, lawmakers elected commissions on judicial affairs, Kuchis, central investigation and parliamentary immunity and incentives.

Pashtun said the commissions, whose candidates were either less than or equal to the required members, were elected first. The three panels fell under that category.

For some parliamentary bodies, the number of candidates was higher than their strength. For the 22-member internal security commission, 37 legislators are in the run, according to the first deputy speaker.
