2 kidnapped individuals freed in Herat
HERAT CITY (PAN): Two abducted individuals were released as a result of a police operation in the western province of Herat, officials said on Wednesday.
A son of a plastic-manufacturing company's owner and a worker of the factory were abducted two days ago by unidentified gunmen in Guzra district.
The captives were held in a house in the Dasht village of the industrial district, police spokesman, Col. Noor Khan Nekzad, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
One suspected kidnapper wad detained during the rescue operation. Police are looking for the detainee's accomplices, according to the spokesman.
The two were kidnapped for ransom, said the secretary of industrialists' association, Mir Mohammad Yaqub Mashauf, who praised the police action.
